WHAT DOES AN ORTHOPEDAGOGUE DO? Explanation for children
An educational psychologist helps children (and parents and schools) when something is not right.
For example, if you're often angry, sad, or feel like no one understands you. An educational psychologist can also help if you find school really difficult or too easy.
It's perfectly normal to visit an educational psychologist. You might even know someone who has been there too!
Together with an educational psychologist you do all kinds of things: sometimes we talk, play a game, make a drawing, or do tasks.
We don't just look at what's difficult, but also at everything that's already going really well. Because often, you can use the things you're good at to make other things easier. Suppose you're really good at puzzles. Then you might be able to use that skill to think calmly when you're angry.
Together we will discover what works best for you!
