PRAKTIJK HOP
Orthopedagogue/Educational psychologist with an eye for children, young people and the environment
HOP stands for Heleen OrthoPedagogics. The kangaroo in the logo is not just any kangaroo: a kangaroo "hops" and lives in families. Like children, they are part of a system. By "system," we mean "the context," for example, the family, school, or sports club. A kangaroo learns from its environment and responds to what happens there. This is also how children are viewed at Praktijk HOP: a child cannot be viewed separately from their environment. When HOP is chosen, a systemic approach is chosen and the (influence of) different contexts is incorporated as much as possible.
Sometimes a child needs to stay in the pouch for a while, while other times it's better to let them out more often. At HOP, we assess this and develop a suitable plan together . Furthermore, a kangaroo is very resilient and can accurately assess when to flee or fight. At HOP, we work together to determine a helpful approach.
And a fun fact: a kangaroo can't jump backward ! That's how we approach children at HOP: with every jump, we look at the results and don't talk about "going backward." Every jump, regardless of the direction, provides information for further collaboration.
Praktijk HOP is located at Anna van Hannoverstraat 4 in Bezuidenhout, The Hague (in the former Ministry of Social Affairs building). We also make use of an additional space on Molenlaan in Voorschoten.

about
ME
Hi! My name is Heleen Boevink-Reinds. I'm a general educational psychologist with a passion for supporting children and their families. I have a positive attitude and focus on what's going well. Everyone has talents , and together we'll discover how to best utilize them.
Balance and openness are important to me: I enjoy combining tranquility and a good relationship with forward-looking and proactive action. Sometimes it's time for reflection, and sometimes HOP needs to put its shoulder to the wheel to move forward.
With my background as a primary school teacher and my experience as an educational psychologist in both primary and secondary education, as well as in basic mental health care, I know exactly how to support children, young people, and their environments (school, parents, sports clubs, etc.). I identify talents and potential, and together we work on the most appropriate approach, both at school and at home.
I think it is important to work together with parents, teachers and of course the child itself, so that we can arrive at the best approach together.
